Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fraud Protection is a cloud-based fraud prevention solution designed for e-commerce, brick-and-mortar, and omni-channel merchants. It offers merchants an omni-channel fraud prevention solution that gives them the tools to decrease fraud and abuse, reduce operational expenses, increase acceptance rates, and safeguard user accounts.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fraud Protections offers three distinct services:
- Purchase Protection: Help merchants decrease their rate of friendly fraud and increase their acceptance rates
- Account Protection: Helps merchants detect fraud attacks like fake accounts, unauthorized access, and account abuse
- Loss prevention: Helps merchants detect the application of improper discounting, and also works to detect return abuse fraud.
As you may recall this is not the first time one of the ‘Big 3’ has entered the fraud prevention market. Last year Amazon released the Fraud Detection AWS Service which allows merchants to build their own in-house ML fraud detection infrastructure. Although it remains to be seen how many merchants are/will be utilizing this service as it will require providing Amazon with access to sensitive and valueable eCommerce data.
This move by Microsoft further reinforces the potential that the big players see in this industry as they try to enhance their offering against dedicated fraud prevention solutions such as Forter, Riskified, Sift, and others.
