Key takeaway: AI-driven chargeback rebuttal tools are moving from standalone vendors into processors’ core platforms, so it’s worth checking whether your existing payment processor already offers one before you add another point solution.
Maverick Payments has integrated Findustry AI’s “Chargeback Agent” into its white-label payments platform, letting merchants and reseller partners automate the process of collecting evidence and filing chargeback rebuttals without custom development work.
Maverick Payments, a full-service payment processor, announced the integration on August 13, 2026, according to PYMNTS. The Chargeback Agent automatically gathers evidence from a merchant’s own systems, interprets the specific card network requirements tied to a chargeback’s reason code, drafts the rebuttal, and submits the completed response, a process merchants and their staff have typically had to handle manually.
Guy DiMaggio, senior vice president of operations and strategy at Maverick, said chargebacks “represent a significant operational and financial burden,” particularly for merchants in high-risk verticals, and described the integration as bringing “AI-powered automation” into that workflow, PYMNTS reported. Findustry AI CEO Jonathan Razi said the tool functions as an “AI payments employee” that decides which chargeback cases to contest, automate, or escalate for human review.
Because Maverick operates as a white-label platform used by independent sales organizations (ISOs) and software vendors reselling its payment stack, the integration is available to those partners’ downstream merchants as well, not just Maverick’s direct customers. Digital Transactions’ coverage of the same announcement described the tool similarly: collecting evidence, interpreting network requirements, building the rebuttal, and submitting it, with the goal of reducing response time and improving a merchant’s odds of winning a dispute.
Why it matters: Chargeback automation tools that write and file rebuttals aren’t new, but this integration puts one directly inside a mainstream processor’s platform rather than requiring a separate standalone tool. For merchants running on Maverick or a partner reselling its stack, it’s worth asking your processor or ISO whether this capability is already available to you, what it costs, and how its evidence-collection compares to whatever chargeback-management tool you’re using today.
